If you'd prefer to look for long term accommodation after you have arrived in Melbourne or have family members visiting you for a short period, short term accommodation is a suitable solution for your need.

You can find a wide range of hotels, hostels and home options near our Parkville and Southbank campuses. Whether you want a private room, a shared room or an entire home, there are different options to suit your needs. Most accommodation providers will offer a cheaper rate for longer stay or bookings made well in advance.

It's important you organise your short term accommodation as early as possible, as places can book out quickly. Most hotels will include a surcharge for special event times, such as before the start of the semester, the Australian Grand Prix weekend, the Australian Open Tennis event, the cricket and AFL Football season.

It is your responsibility to make sure your private accommodation suits your needs. Any rental agreement or arrangement you enter into is strictly between you and the private accommodation provider.
