The University of Melbourne is Australia’s leading public research university, attracting more than 60,000 students from 160 countries each year. Established in 1853, it has grown to become an international leader in research, learning and teaching.

Melbourne is one of the safest and friendliest cities in the world to live, work and study. Many of our Singaporean students get involved in our great community by joining student clubs, participating in music, cultural and sporting events, or indulging in the array of international cuisines. There are over 500 enrolled students from Singapore and a large Singaporean community in Melbourne, so you can be assured that you will feel at home.

Our entry requirements

We accept the International Baccalaureate (IB), Diploma, GCE, A levels, Singapore/Cambridge A Levels and US High School Diplomas curriculum for direct entry. We also accept students who graduate with Singapore Polytechnic Diplomas. Students must achieve the minimum overall GPA in Year 12, have completed any required prerequisite subjects for their preferred University of Melbourne degree and meet English language requirements to be eligible for direct entry into a bachelor degree.

For students who haven't completed one of the approved programs for direct entry, or for those students who don't wish to complete Year 12 in Singapore, Trinity College Foundation Studies (TCFS) is the University’s preferred foundation studies program and pathway for international students seeking entry into the University’s undergraduate degrees.

"One thing I didn’t expect to learn at university is to be very independent and proactive. Let go of expectations and put yourself out there. Friends and student activities make student living a whole lot more enjoyable. The support services on campus have helped me by ensuring that I am well on track with my education, by providing channels to ensure that I get there smoothly."

Proudly multicultural, our diverse student community is represented by more than 200 clubs and societies.
