There are over 350 enrolled Sri Lankan students and a large Sri Lankan community in Melbourne, so you can feel assured that you will feel at home.

Our entry requirements

We accept the International Baccalaureate, A levels and US High School Diplomas curriculum for direct entry. We also accept students who graduate with a Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (A Levels). Students must achieve the minimum overall GPA in Year 12, have completed any course prerequisite subjects and meet English language requirements to be eligible for direct entry into a bachelor degree.

For students who do not attend one of the approved gifted high schools or those students who do not wish to complete Year 12 in Sri Lanka, Trinity College Foundation Studies (TCFS) is the University’s preferred foundation studies program and pathway for international students seeking entry into the University’s undergraduate degrees.

Sri Lankan Students Association

The Sri Lankan Students’ Association (MUSLSA) is one of the university’s most popular and active social clubs. With a broad membership base focussed around students of a Sri Lankan or sub-continental background. MUSLSA prides itself on the quality of the events it organises for its members.

UMSU is an organisation run by students, for students. They strive to help you make the most of your time at University of Melbourne by meeting new people, having fun and exploring your passions outside of your degree.

Claire has more than 13 years’ experience in higher education, currently leading student recruitment in markets including Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam at the University of Melbourne. Claire enjoys travel and planning her next holiday, finding good books to read and op shopping.
