The University of Melbourne is Australia’s leading public research university, attracting more than 60,000 students from 160 countries each year. Established in 1853, it has grown to become an international leader in research, learning and teaching.
Melbourne is one of the safest and friendliest cities in the world to live, work and study. Many of our Sri Lankan students get involved in our great community by joining student clubs, participating in music, cultural and sporting events, or indulging in the array of international cuisines. There are over 350 enrolled Sri Lankan students and a large Sri Lankan community in Melbourne, so you can feel assured that you will feel at home.
