International House Scholarships

Applications

Once you have applied for a residential place at International House, you can apply for an International House scholarship. There are scholarships available to both new and returning undergraduate students.

Unless otherwise noted, applications are made using the application form below. The closing date for entrance scholarship applications is 10 January 2021.

List of scholarships for new undergraduate students

Clifford Family Scholarship (2 available) $14,400 p.a. for 3 years
Commerce at International House Scholarship $28,800 for 1 year
  • Australian citizen
  • Applied for the first year University of Melbourne Bachelor of Commerce through VTAC
  • Applied for a Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) via VTAC providing evidence of residence in a rural or regional area
  • Preference is given to students who have also indicated on the SEAS application they have experienced a disadvantaged financial background
  • Online application required.

Robert M Fels Rotary Club of Melbourne $14,400, one-year accommodation fee scholarship
  • Australian citizen from rural or regional area or refugee background
  • Demonstrates two of the following criteria:
    • Financial need
    • Consistently good academic achievement.
    • Significant contribution to community

Richard Cullen and SK Chan Scholarship

$7500 one-year accommodation fee scholarship
  • International student from China, Hong Kong or Taiwan
  • Demonstrates two of the following criteria:
    • Financial need
    • Consistently good academic achievement.
    • Significant contribution to community
Mavis Jackson Academic Performance Scholarship $5000, one-year accommodation fee scholarship
  • International student, and
  • Applicant with the highest academic result from their final year of secondary education.
Weickhardt Academic Potential Entrance Scholarship $7000, one-year accommodation fee scholarship
  • Domestic first year student
  • Applicant with the highest academic result from their final year of secondary education.
1964 Alumni Scholarship $4,000 (one-off bursary)
  • Australian citizen from rural or regional Victoria
  • Applied for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) via VTAC providing evidence of residence in a rural or regional area, and
  • Preference is given to students who have also indicated on their SEAS application that they have experienced a disadvantaged financial background.*
SEAVIC Lodge No.8 Freemasons International House Bursary $5,000 three-year accommodation fee scholarship
  • Malaysian student, and
  • Demonstrable financial need
Vi and Pete Peterson$5000 one-year accommodation fee scholarship
  • International student
  • Demonstrates two of the following criteria: financial need, academic achievement, potential community contribution

*Although not a primary criterion, the selection committee may consider applicants’ final high school results when selecting for this scholarship.

  • Demonstrates two of the following criteria:

  • Australian student or international student
  • Second top academic performer over both semesters

  • Australian student

Vi Peterson Scholarship $2000 one-year accommodation fee scholarship
  • Australian student or international student
  • Demonstrates two of the following criteria:

Global Citizenship Award $5000
  • Australian student or international student
  • Undergraduate or graduate student
  • Spend a period of at least one month contributing to a humanitarian aid project, for the benefit of the citizens of an under-developed region.

  • Studying dentistry, possibly medicine, who demonstrates academic achievement
