Meet Stephanie: 300 point Master of Architecture student

Since she was a child, Stephanie always felt drawn to the built environment and deciding on a career change led her back to this childhood passion.

After completing her Bachelor of Arts and working in publishing and journalism for a few years, Stephanie returned to university to study architecture.

With no background in design, she was really happy to learn that the University of Melbourne's, 300pt Master of Architecture program doesn’t require any prior knowledge of or experience in architecture.

All set to take on her graduate study, Stephanie was initially a little unsure of how she would balance raising her young daughter alongside her studies. As it turns out, her daughter has offered a source of inspiration and has even been incorporated into many of Stephanie’s designs - including a piece of handmade Bauhaus-style furniture she created for a design elective.

Architecture shapes the world that we live in; we all need a space to live. Stephanie aspires to use design to respond to issues around climate change, housing affordability and how to return space to Indigenous Australians.
