Research Training Program (RTP) Fee Offset Scholarship
The University of Melbourne offers a range of scholarship for students undertaking graduate research training. These scholarships are funded by the University, philanthropic gifts or Government grants.
All domestic students who are admitted to a Master by research or Doctoral degree at the University of Melbourne will receive a Research Training Program Fee Offset Scholarship to acknowledge the contribution from the Australian Government towards the cost of their tuition.
Other scholarships may provide a stipend towards the cost of living and a relocation allowance. International students may also receive Overseas Student Health Cover and a tuition fee offset.

Scholarships
You will need to submit a course application by the relevant closing dates to be considered for Graduate Research Scholarships and Faculty based scholarships available to you.

Only complete applications that are submitted will be assessed for candidature and scholarships. Please refer to Step 4 of the How to apply section for information about our specific application requirements.
Ensure you submit a course application by the relevant closing date to be considered for the scholarships. Most scholarships will be awarded in the first 2 rounds.
Additional rounds may be advertised for specific scholarships (e.g. MDHS Graduate Research Trust Scholarships).
If you are successful in obtaining a scholarship, you must commence your scholarship by 31 October of the academic year you have been made an offer for or your scholarship offer may be rescinded.
Domestic applicants experiencing compassionate or compelling circumstances (including illness, disability, carer responsibilities or personal hardship), may be eligible to apply for the Fay Marles Scholarship or the Frederick Blake Shepherd Scholarship. Applications close 31 October.
