Oral diseases are amongst the most prevalent in the community. The study of dental public health seeks to improve the oral health of the population through population-level approaches and with a focus on areas such as social determinants, prevention, oral health policy and promotion.

The Graduate Certificate of Dental Public Health at the University of Melbourne is a partnership between the Melbourne Dental School and the Melbourne School of Population & Global Health and provides students with the opportunity to advance their knowledge of public health as it applies to dentistry and oral health.

The program is delivered in collaboration with a range of key public health organisations to provide insight and experience into the practical application of the principles of dental public health.

This course will be suitable for people in a wide variety of areas including clinical dental services, policy and government related areas and international dental health.

This course is only delivered part-time to cater to the working professional.
