Overview

Many nurses are interested in studying advanced nursing practice courses to expand their skillsets and build their leadership capacity. Additionally, nurses are also seeking training in public health skillsets, such as epidemiology and biostatistics, evaluation and implementation science, infectious diseases, and advanced research methods to expand their practice and leadership capability.

The Master of Advanced Nursing Practice/Master of Public Health is the only single degree that integrates content from both advanced nursing practice and public health, providing unique opportunities for registered nurses and helping them to meet global workforce needs.

The day-to-day experience

The Master of Advanced Nursing Practice/Master of Public Health allows students to choose their own adventure with flexible delivery modes including face-to-face, online and dual delivery.

The teaching staff are current practitioners in their field, with world-class expertise in nursing and public health. Students will have the opportunity to study at our picturesque Parkville Campus in the heart of the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, a global leading research and teaching powerhouse.

Opportunities

The Master of Advanced Nursing Practice/Master of Public Health offers students the choice of a Research or Coursework pathway, as well as a range of elective subjects to choose from.

The Research pathway will give students the opportunity to explore a novel topic in their area of expertise, and develop a research understanding that can lead to a PhD.

Students can undertake research opportunities or an applied project in areas including epidemiology and biostatistics, infectious disease epidemiology and sexual health.
