What will I study?

Overview

Developed by leaders in the field, the Master of Clinical Optometry is an in-depth and challenging course designed to significantly advance your clinical skills in your chosen fields of specialisation.

You will re-examine the basic sciences of clinical optometry in the context of the latest evidence, as well as updating your knowledge and skills with an emphasis on understanding and managing clinical problems.

Specifically designed for off-campus study using e-learning applications, this course also allows you to complete and apply learning tasks in your own practice.

Course structure

To gain the Master of Clinical Optometry students must complete one core subject (Research Studies in Optometry) and three of the six offered elective subjects. The course can be completed online, part-time over two years.

Elective subjects include Anterior Eye Disease and Dry Eye, Management of Contact Lens Patients

Management of Neuro-ophthalmic Disorders, Glaucoma and Retinal Disease, and Management of Low Vision Patients.

Workload

Students should expect to commit approximately 340 hours per subject, including all online activities, assessments, reading, and preparation.
