Overview

200 point program (2 years full-time or part-time equivalent)

This is our most popular program for those who have completed undergraduate study. No experience is necessary.

  • Two compulsory subjects (25 points)
  • Four core subjects (50 points)

Coursework only option

  • Elective subjects (125 points)

Minor Thesis option

  • Research Methods for Development (DEVT90041) (12.5 points)
  • Minor thesis parts 1 and 2 (total 50 points)
  • Elective subjects (62.5 points)

150 point program (1.5 years full-time or part-time equivalent)

This is for graduates who have completed at least one year of relevant professional work experience, or equivalent, in addition to relevant background study, or graduates of an honours degree in any discipline.

  • Two compulsory subjects (25 points)
  • Two core subjects (25 points)

Coursework only option

  • Elective subjects (100 points)

or

Minor Thesis option

  • Research Methods for Development (DEVT90041) (12.5 points)
  • Minor thesis parts 1 and 2 (total 50 points)
  • Elective subjects (37.5 points)

100 point program (1 year full-time or part-time equivalent)

This is for relevant honours graduates or those who have completed at least two years professional work experience in a closely related field, in addition to relevant background study.

  • Two compulsory subjects (25 points)

Coursework only option

  • Elective subjects (75 points)

Minor Thesis option

  • Research Methods for Development (DEVT90041) (12.5 points)
  • Minor thesis parts 1 and 2 (total 50 points)
  • Elective subject (12.5 points)

Capstone requirement

Capstone subject options must be completed in the final hundred points of the program. All students are required to complete one Capstone subject option (at least 25 points). This requirement cannot be waived or replaced in any circumstances.
