Profile

Jez Hunghanfoo

“I would really encourage people who are really committed and really passionate about development as a career, and the development sector as a place to work, to consider this program and throw their hat in the ring.

This course meets people in their leadership journey. I’ve already been able to bring some of those models and some of that thinking into my day-to-day work and to pose new questions – to bring different perspectives – to a leadership table or a meeting. So it’s something that consciously and unconsciously I’m ingesting and bringing in to my day-to-day work almost immediately.

If you don’t feel like you come from the right background, I’d still recommend investigating the course. We’ve got people from marketing and comms backgrounds; we’ve got people from social enterprise and business backgrounds; we’ve got people from more classic development/NGO programs backgrounds.

I’ve worked with my employer to carve out time for this, because it’s really applicable to where I’m working now and brings real value to the work that I’m in. There’s a lot of work to be done in terms of human development and social justice progress – and I want to be making a contribution in that space for a long time to come.”
