How do I apply?

There are three components to each application. Applicants must submit components 1 and 2 by the application closing date.

If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, you may like to contact our Faculty’s Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development before proceeding. They can assist you with your application and provide you with additional information about your study options.

  2. SUPPLEMENTARY APPLICATION & PORTFOLIO

    Upload your portfolio via the supplementary application form

  3. CREATIVE TASK & INTERVIEW

    Shortlisted applicants will be required to submit a creative task and attend an interview. For more information, please visit Auditions and Interviews.

    PORTFOLIO

    Applicants will be required to upload the following via the supplementary application form:

    • a 500-800 word written statement including the following:
      • reasons for wishing to undertake the Master of Production Design
      • previous experience in Design and/or related fields
      • interest and motivation for undertaking the course
      • analysis of design for a film or live performance production (live or recorded) you have seen recently
    • a CV
    • a folio of work that demonstrates your creative and/or technical abilities. Each item should be clearly labelled with the name of the work and date of creation. If the work is the result of collaboration and not wholly your own original work, please explain your specific contribution.
    GRADUATE ACCESS MELBOURNE

    Graduate Access Melbourne (GAM) is the University’s equity program for domestic graduate students. Under GAM, specific circumstances of applicants will be considered in relation to admission and bursaries.
