Where will this take me?
Our graduates are prepared for the challenging work of being a teacher, which sets them apart with employers. They are greatly sought after by schools in our networks. We are known for producing some of the best teachers in the country and we are often approached directly with job prospects.
There are regular opportunities for teachers to move into roles that influence and shape the direction of a school. Our program ensures graduates have the capabilities and confidence to move into leadership positions and make a difference.
96 per cent of our graduates gain employment within the first four months of graduating.*
The Master of Teaching (Secondary) Internship is accredited with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) which enables graduates to be eligible to apply for full teacher registration.
MEET OUR internship ALUMNI: jodie o'connor
Jodie was a Maths and Science teacher on the Master of Teaching (Secondary) Internship. She completed her internship at Footscray City College, Melbourne. Reflecting on her experience, Jodie shares, "I really appreciated having the opportunity to have classes that are entirely my own. I felt the flexibility and freedom to try different things without fear, but also with the support from my school, mentor, transition coach and staff at the University. As I made changes in the classroom I had the opportunity to analyse their effects and adjust my teaching when necessary – that was a very important part."
