The experience

Overview

The Professional Certificate in Leadership is comprised of 2 full subjects, with each subject equivalent to 170 total hours +/- 20%. The total is approximately 340 hours across 2 subjects.

This learning time is comprised of:

  • Interactive contact: including on-screen text/diagrams, tutor/teacher lessons delivered via audio and/or video, guided practice application examples, case scenarios, examples of practitioner experience, short review of current research fronts, formative self-check quiz(zes), practice reflection and discussion prompts, and live webinar time.
  • Private study: including participation in discussion forums and assigned readings;
  • Completion of assessment tasks.

Dr Michal Carrington

Dr Michal Carrington teaches and researches in the areas of marketing ethics, marketing theory, strategic marketing, retail management/marketing, ethical consumption, consumer culture and consumer behaviour. Her research has appeared in the European Journal of Marketing, Marketing Theory, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research and Higher Education Research and Development.

Michal is currently co-editing an interdisciplinary book titled ‘Ethics and Morality in Consumption: Interdisciplinary Perspectives’ to be published by Routledge and co-convening an ESRC Seminar Series of the same title. Michal holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Melbourne, and a PhD also from the University of Melbourne. Prior to entering academia, Michal spent almost a decade working for Unilever in Australia and the UK.
