Course structure

Overview

In this online course, you will learn about disorders such as amblyopia, strabismus, ametropia, accommodative-vergence dysfunction and visual processing disorders.

You will also learn about childhood development and how this affects our evaluation of vision and its impact on learning, as well as the ocular and visual challenges seen in common childhood syndromes such as Down syndrome and cerebral palsy, including associated ocular diseases relevant to other special needs paediatric populations.

Course structure

In order to be awarded the Specialist Certificate in the Management of Paediatric Patients, students must complete one 25 credit point core subject, studied over one semester.

Workload

Students should expect to commit approximately 340 hours to this course, including all online activities, assessments, reading, and preparation.
