Whether you are a teacher, education leader or policy maker, this specialisation will prepare you to move into education leadership roles, education policy reform and management, or other related areas.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this specialisation, students should be able to:

  • Discuss the nature and role of education policy and the key conceptual ideas underpinning policies in national, regional and international contexts
  • Articulate and distinguish between the main theories and approaches used to analyse education policy, education policy reform and the impact of globalisation in national, regional and international contexts
  • Analyse contemporary debates in education policy and education policy reform in national, regional and international contexts, drawing on relevant theories and evidence from the research literature, including theories on globalisation and emerging global trends.; and
  • Reflect critically on key policy and policy reform debates and global trends, addressing the relevant social, cultural, political and historical contexts.
