About specialist legal study
The Melbourne Law Masters program offers masters degrees, graduate diplomas and specialist certificates to both law and non-law graduates. Courses can be tailored to meet your personal and professional aspirations: choose from 26 specialist legal areas and more than 185 subjects taught each year by leading experts from around the world.
Subjects are available as single subject study, either with or without assessment. Undertaking a single subject is an ideal way to acquire an in-depth understanding of new developments in law or new skills in a particular legal area without enrolling in a formal degree. Practising lawyers may also use these to contribute to their Continuing Professional Development points.
Most of our 185 subjects are taught intensively over five days, giving you the flexibility to fit your study around work and other commitments. Attend classes in business hours and submit your assessment online.
Many subjects are taught by visiting practitioners – including serving and retired judges, law firm partners, barristers, and leaders in business and the not-for-profit sector – and international academics from New York University, Harvard, Yale, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, International Monetary Fund, World Trade Organization, and the London School of Economics.
