About Specialist legal study

The Melbourne Law Masters program offers masters degrees, graduate diplomas and specialist certificates to both law and non-law graduates. Choose from 27 specialist legal areas and more than 150 subjects taught each year by leading experts from around the world.

Subjects are available as single subject study, either with or without assessment. Undertaking a single subject is an ideal way to acquire an in-depth understanding of new developments in law or new skills in a particular legal area without enrolling in a formal course. Practising lawyers may also use these to contribute to their Continuing Professional Development points.

Many subjects are taught by visiting practitioners – including serving and retired judges, law firm partners, barristers, and leaders in business and the not-for-profit sector – and international academics from New York University, Harvard, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford and the London School of Economics.
