You may wish to apply these skills directly to your role, or you may be a leader, emerging leader or manager who wants to enhance or reimagine workplace processes or inspire creativity within your organisation or team.

There are no eligibility requirements.

This course will enhance your creativity, creative thinking and advocacy skills, which can be applied to any industry context.

You will find these skills and techniques can also be applied with equal value to practices outside of the workplace.

By the end of this micro-credential, you'll be able to:

• Use of a range of methodologies for prompting creative thinking and creative outputs, which include precinct, locale and specialised safe environment/s
• Practise flexible and adaptive thinking skills demonstrated through a range of genre
• Innovate through independent and shared judgements
• Create a professional creative identity that can advocate new ideas and apply protocols for a sustained practice through resilience and bravery.

This course runs over five weeks, delivered as four weekly workshops plus additional time for assessment tasks.

Your total time commitment is approximately 42 hours, which includes:

• 8 hours synchronous workshop (delivered as four weekly two-hour sessions)
• 8 hours asynchronous guided learning
• 12 hours independent practical experimentation
• 12 hours assessment.

Assessment:

• Personal-professional and spatial identity presented as digital images (30%)
• Creative portfolio presented as digital artefacts (30%)
• Written explanation to accompany portfolio, including reflection (30%)
• Observed participation in workshops (10%).

Once you've successfully completed this course, you will be awarded your Generating Creativity Melbourne MicroCert. This digital certificate will warrant the achievement of knowledge, skills and capabilities outlined in the learning outcomes. It may also include artefacts (such as videos and written material) related to both experiential and work-integrated learning, including translatable assessment that is practical to your professional life. You can also share your Melbourne MicroCert digitally and via social media by adding it to your personal platforms, such as LinkedIn. See example certificate.

Generating Creativity can be taken as a stand-alone micro-credential, or you can complement it with any other course in the Artful Communications suite, in whatever order you choose.

Throughout each workshop, you'll engage with digital studios and breakout rooms for active discussion and collaboration. You'll also partake in interactive and experiential activities such as guided conversations, collaborations and ensemble work, demonstrations, role-play and scenario-building.

This micro-credential will expire seven years from the date of issue as particular knowledge and/or skills may need to be refreshed.
