3 years Bachelor degree

4 years Doctor of Optometry

1. Choose your undergraduate degree

Choose the Bachelor of Biomedicine or Bachelor of Science and complete three subjects at second-year or third-year level in one or more relevant biological science disciplines.

2. Enter the Doctor of Optometry

The Doctor of Optometry program is a masters level professional entry degree that is an internationally recognised qualification with full accreditation from the Optometry Council of Australia and New Zealand (OCANZ). Clinical studies commence in first year and gradually increase to full-time in the final year. The course runs for four years and is a combination of on-campus teaching and clinical placements. A research project, with clinical relevance, is conducted as a required component of the degree.
