What you will learn
Gain contemporary skills and knowledge.
Good design can improve the way we live and be a powerful vessel for telling evocative stories.
Based at the intersection of performance and design histories, theory and practice, this course explores the relationships between objects, people and spaces in design, with a focus on props.
It is ideal for anyone interested in developing compelling and contemporary prop designs that help share stories and influence change. You might be interested in using design in traditional settings, your workplace, or in the community or other personal contexts, for storytelling or to impart your perspective and influence others.
As well as traditional theatre settings, design is increasingly important in workplaces and communities. Presentations and activations designed with nuanced visual and audio inputs achieve greater reach and engagement, and are thus an essential tool for advocacy and influencing change.
Creative Production and Design: The Collective can also be complemented with the other short courses in our Creative Production and Design suite, which is part of Creative Arts Studios. See course details for more information.
