Video is a powerful medium in the world of new media, which is increasingly important in our daily lives, communities and workplaces, as new platforms and applications allow us to communicate in powerful and meaningful ways.
This immersive online course provides an in-depth look at a wide range of new media, technology and software used in contemporary arts practice, with a focus on video, as well as the body and movement in video recordings. Led by creative-digital experts from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, you'll gain the confidence to use video, and to express and explore contemporary ideas.
It is ideal for anyone interested in developing new skills or honing an existing practice in video and new media.

Understand the fundamentals of video
Learn the fundamentals of video and how they can be utilised in a creative process. Be introduced to foundational video techniques, as well gain an overview of contemporary video practices.
Explore display, scale and movement and creative expression
Gain an introduction to forms of display, scale, movement and the recorded body. Engage with exploratory creative practices based on body and movement, to help develop your own practice.
Develop your own creative work and build confidence
As a final creative exercise, you will be given a prompt related to the theme 'body and movement', from which you will develop artwork that tests and expands your new skills and knowledge.
To take New Media Studio 2: Body and Movement as a stand-alone course, you'll pay the normal price.
