What you will learn
Gain contemporary skills and knowledge.
Authentic drawing and painting practices enable creative expression, allow us to communicate with others in meaningful ways, challenge norms, and shift options. Mindful practice can also improve wellbeing and provide inroads to sense-making in an increasingly complex world.
This course focuses on collaboration in painting and drawing. You'll explore the way individuals and objects work within a group project to enhance your ability to bring compelling projects and creative visions to life.
The course is delivered at our world-class Southbank facilities and is ideal for anyone interested in working on group projects, and developing a more rewarding personal or professional painting or drawing practice.
Painting and Drawing: Collaboration can also be complemented with the other short courses in our Painting and Drawing suite, which is part of Creative Arts Studios. See course details for more information.
Learn to collaborate across disciplines
Reflecting current industry practices, you'll work with others from across the Creative Arts Studios and take on various creative roles. You'll build your capacity to work with people in a range of creative disciplines and increase your industry know-how so you can use your painting and drawing practise to have an impact in the real world, and help bring exhibitions and installations to fruition.
Develop a creative project
Drawing on your own creative practice, you will develop a collaborative project (performance, installation, exhibition) on a theme defined by your cohort and guided by tutors. You'll learn to work in a small team sharing a creative vision, and build your own creative confidence.
Understand audience in your work
As part of your collaborative project, you'll learn about developing works for various creative industries, community and professional contexts, and learn to exhibit to a range of specialist and non-specialist audiences.
