While you’re studying at the University of Melbourne, you’ll have access to dedicated support to help you settle in and succeed.
Education abroad adviser
Your education abroad adviser is your main point of contact throughout your program. They can support you with:
- Adjusting to study and life in Melbourne
- Understanding academic expectations and systems
- Finding accommodation or managing living arrangements
- Navigating cultural differences and everyday life in Australia
- Personal matters that may be affecting your studies.
If you need more specialised support, your adviser can connect you with the right University services.
Student support services
You can also access a wide range of student support services during your time at the University of Melbourne.
Stop 1 is the University’s central student service hub and can help with:
- Enrolment and study planning
- Fees and payments
- Accommodation information
- Employability and career advice
- General student support and services.

Completing your program
As you finish your exchange or study abroad program, there are a few important steps to help you transition back to your home institution.
Once your results are released, you’ll receive a University of Melbourne Statement of Results, also known as a transcript.
An official electronic transcript will also be made available, which you can share with your home institution.
You’ll receive one official electronic transcript as part of your program.
If you need additional copies or require a hard copy transcript, you can request these through Stop 1 after your results are released.

Your home institution is responsible for assessing your results and awarding credit towards your degree.
This includes:
- Converting your University of Melbourne grades
- Determining how your subjects count towards your course.
Not all home institutions will translate your University of Melbourne grades to their precise equivalents. If you have questions about credit transfer, you should contact your home institution directly.
Before returning home, make sure you have:
- Finalised any outstanding fees related to your program
- Accessed and shared your results and transcript via My eQuals
- Checked any requirements from your home institution
- Confirmed how your credit transfer will be assessed.
Taking these steps early will help ensure a smooth transition back to studies at your home institution.
