Gaining credit for single subject study/CAP

If you are not currently enrolled in a degree program and successfully complete an assessed mode CAP subject:

You may receive credit towards a diploma or degree at the University, if you are subsequently selected for entry to an award course. Such credit is not, however, granted automatically. The successful completion of a subject or subjects undertaken through CAP does not automatically qualify students for admission to an award course at the University.

If you are currently enrolled at the University of Melbourne and successfully complete a CAP subject, either assessed or non-assessed:

You will not receive credit towards your current award course at the University of Melbourne. If you are studying at another institution and wish to receive credit for CAP studies, you will need to make a request to your home institution for credit to be granted. You may wish to check your home institution's credit guidelines before applying.

If you are undertaking CAP subjects for professional recognition (for example, in accounting or psychology):

Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that the subjects are recognised by the relevant professional organisation or association.

For more detailed information, please refer to the University of Melbourne's Credit Policy.
