Find out what the eight recognised Access Melbourne categories are and what documentation or evidence you may need to provide to apply under each category.
If you're applying for 2019 entry to an undergraduate degree and have special circumstances that have impacted your secondary results, such as financial disadvantage, hardship or you're returning as a mature-aged student, you may be eligible for Access Melbourne.
Access Melbourne is our equity scheme for domestic students. If you’re eligible under any of the program’s equity categories, we will take into account your personal circumstances while assessing your application and you may gain entry to one of our undergraduate degrees at a reduced ATAR subject to meeting course prerequisites. Some, but not all, of our bachelor degrees also have a guaranteed ATAR so you can be sure of gaining an offer if you meet the eligibility requirements.
Applications for Access Melbourne 2019 entry close on Friday 12th October at 5pm
About the scheme
If you're eligible for Access Melbourne under the categories of either disadvantaged financial background, if you're from a rural or isolated area, or if you are an Indigenous applicant, you may receive a guaranteed place.
You'll also automatically be considered for a Melbourne Access Scholarship offering an allowance of up to $5000 a year for three years, to help you with the cost of moving, accommodation and tuition while you study.
