To be eligible for consideration for an offer, international students must achieve at least the indicative score as listed above, satisfy course prerequisites (by completing the specified subject(s) with the required grade), and meet the University’s English language requirements.

The scores listed above are applicable to Polytechnic Diplomas completed in study areas that are cognate to your preferred undergraduate course at the University of Melbourne. For example – a Diploma in Media and Communication will usually be considered cognate to the Bachelor of Arts; a Diploma in Accountancy to the Bachelor of Commerce; a Diploma in Architecture to the Bachelor of Design; and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering to the Bachelor of Science. Polytechnic Diplomas that are completed in non-cognate disciplines will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and the required entry score may be higher than what is listed above.

Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Music applicants must be qualified for University entry, must satisfy the course-specific extra requirements, and must meet the University’s English language requirements. Fine Arts applicants who wish to receive credit for subjects completed as part of their Diploma should submit an application here: Advanced Standing

The Diploma will be used as the basis for entry and therefore no credit will be awarded.

See Entry after post-secondary studies for information about entry and admission with credit.
