Your Melbourne experience is yours to shape. If you’re interested in law, you can start with any of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees. This is an opportunity to explore your interests and study a variety of topics. It allows you to enhance your university experience and career options by giving you professional expertise from a range of disciplines. As an introduction to law, you can study law subjects in your undergraduate degree through the breadth program. Once you’ve completed your undergraduate degree, can progress to the Melbourne Juris Doctor.

Study law during your undergraduate degree
Study law from day one at Melbourne with breadth. Unique to the Melbourne curriculum, breadth study allows you to tailor your course to fit your individual passions and career ambitions. You may choose to take a single subject in law; or take a sequence of three or more subjects called a breadth track. This can help you develop knowledge and skills relevant to topics like free speech and media law or health law, ethics and society.

Better than a double degree
Begin your career in law by completing an undergraduate degree followed by the three-year Melbourne JD (Juris Doctor) graduate course. Secure your place in both degrees with a Graduate Degree Package. You’ll graduate with a higher level qualification than a traditional double degree.
