Open Day is your chance to experience what it’s really like to study, live and thrive at Melbourne.

You can tour labs and learning spaces, get stuck into creative workshops, attend information sessions and chat to lecturers and students.

Information sessions

Delve into a particular study area, course or subject of interest to help make informed decisions about your future study path. These presentations are led by experienced course advisers and will include time for you to ask questions. Check your planner for session times and arrive early to secure your spot.

Study expos

Chat one-on-one with academic staff, students and course advisers about your preferred area of study, the subjects and learning experiences available and how you can structure your degree based on your interests and strengths. Expos run all day, so you can drop in anytime.

Tours

Get a feel for where you may one day be learning and living on campus, through guided or self-guided walkthrough of a learning lab, study space, accommodation facility or other amenity. Check the full program for tour departure times.

Demonstrations

Watch as an instructor brings to life how a particular idea, method or process works so that you can develop a more practical understanding of the discipline. Demonstrations run throughout the day. Check the full program for times.

Workshops

Join a fun, interactive learning exercise where you'll gain hands-on experience and increase your knowledge in a particular study area or discipline. Use the planner to save workshop times and build them into your Open Day schedule.

Sample lectures

Experience firsthand what it's like to study a university subject or discipline area at Melbourne. These sessions, presented by academics, will enable you to explore your strengths, uncover new interests and shape your future study ambitions. Add lecture times to your planner and arrive early to secure your spot.

Exhibitions

View student artworks and design projects up close for a taste of how you can blend creativity and innovation throughout your preferred course, or take in the University's unique collections on display. Open all day, exhibitions are easy to explore between other sessions.

Performances

Student actors, dancers and musicians will be taking to the stage throughout the day, showcasing not just the remarkable array of talent at Melbourne, but the creative options available to you in our Fine Arts and Music courses. How to organise your Open Day

When you register for Open Day, you'll gain access to the full program and planner tool.

With 400+ sessions on offer, the planner helps you create a personalised shortlist so you know what's on and where to be throughout the day. You'll also receive event updates, maps and helpful information ahead of Open Day to make the most of your visit.

Adding a session to your planner does not reserve a place, so arrive early for sessions you don't want to miss. Many popular sessions run multiple times throughout the day, so there's plenty of opportunity to fit them in.

A UniMelb Account is required when registering for this event. After clicking the 'Register now' button you'll have the option to login or create a new account. This is your secure login, which is needed to protect your personal information.

Once you’ve registered you'll have access to the Open Day event planner. This is where you'll find the full program of experiences, including expos, information sessions, exhibitions, tours and more.

Once registered, you can use your UniMelb Account login anytime to access the event planner, including the interactive maps. View all sessions and use the filter and search options to explore what's on and add (+) sessions to create a personalised schedule for your Open Day. You can also filter for sessions with wheelchair access and hearing loops.

When you register for Open Day you will receive a confirmation email – use the link in this email to log back into the event planner at any time and view or modify your schedule. Or you can log in directly to the Open Day event planner.
