If you are looking to be qualified, you can complete the Doctor of Dental Surgery to become a registered general dental practitioner. Other courses are available to upskill through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in a flexible learning environment or to expand your skills in dentistry.
Professional entry course
Based on advanced, evidenced-based clinical training, the degree leads to registration as a general dental practitioner with the Dental Practice Board in Australia and New Zealand. 4 years full-time, on campus (Parkville).
Courses for professionals
Apply a population health perspective for causes of oral diseases, identify interventions for reducing these and use epidemiological knowledge for assessing the adequacy of current dental practices. 6 months full-time. Mixed-mode attendance.
Open up new career pathways with additional skills and knowledge in adult restorative practice, including deepening your understanding of periodontology and cariology, prosthodontics, oral medicine and pharmacology. 6 months full-time. Mixed-mode attendance.
Develop advanced clinical, academic and research skills to further your career in specialty practice, academia or research. Accredited by the Australian Dental Council for graduates to register with AHPRA and practice as a Specialist Dentist. 3 years full-time. On campus (Parkville).
Designed to equip students with a solid foundation in prosthodontics and restorative dentistry, clinical skills, patient management, and ethical considerations. 1 year full time/ 2 years part time.
