Climate change is fundamentally changing how humans live and interact with the environment – bringing a range of health challenges on a local, national and global scale.

Furthermore, disasters and extreme weather events due to climate change are taking place with increasing frequency across the globe – affecting peoples’ mental and physical health in new ways.

The Graduate Certificate in Climate Change and Health will prepare you for leadership roles in climate change related health policy, healthcare and community programs focused on sustainability, resilience, environmental protection and climate change mitigation and adaptation so that you lead the change.

Complementing this emerging area of expertise are the University's Disaster and Terror Medicine courses, designed for clinicians, first responders, hospital administrators, social workers, the military, and government and policymakers. Utilising the latest knowledge and evidence-based practice, you’ll gain skills to respond quickly and decisively to disaster and terror events in clinical settings.

Disaster and Terror Medicine courses

“The need for [disaster and terror medicine courses] is unfortunately self-evident. It is not a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’ an event will occur. As clinicians, administrators and officials who are charged with ensuring the safety of our community, understanding the principles of disaster and terror management, will mitigate the impact when these events happen.” Professor Braitberg AM.
