Guaranteed and flexible undergraduate to graduate degree pathways

At Melbourne, our degree programs follow a similar model to many of the most prestigious universities around the world. As a Melbourne student, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a broad undergraduate degree in your chosen area of study specialising further during your professional graduate studies.

If you are in your final year of high school and you already know that you would like to complete both your undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Melbourne, but you’re not quite as sure about the area you’d like to specialise in – you can still secure your place.

When you are awarded guaranteed entry, you’ll be able to decide on your graduate specialisations closer to finishing your undergraduate studies. This means you’ll have the peace of mind of a secure graduate pathway with us without having to make any big decisions from Year 12. You’ll also be able to leave Melbourne with an undergraduate qualification if you decide further study isn’t right for you.

Guaranteed entry pathways into graduate study are available to domestic and international students who;

  • Complete an Australian Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in Australia
  • Enrol in a University of Melbourne undergraduate degree immediately following Year 12, or are granted a deferral by the University
  • Satisfy course prerequisites.

Students who have transferred from another university are not eligible for a guaranteed entry pathway.

Already a Melbourne student? If you are currently enrolled at Melbourne you may still be eligible for our past guarantees.
