Trauma-informed leadership towards engaging, orderly learning environments
The session introduces how school leaders can shift their schools from reactive to proactive with whole‑school structures in order to support the full continuum of student need, from universal approaches to targeted and intensive interventions through a trauma-informed education leadership approach.
In this session, Associate Professor Tom Brunzell will share original research and practices to:
- Support staff from reactive to proactive, relational practices
- Designing consistent, schoolwide systems that support clarity and fairness
- Building students’ capacity through strengths‑based, trauma‑informed routines and self‑regulation strategies
