Living at a regional campus

If you're studying at our Werribee, Creswick, Shepparton, or Dookie campuses, you'll need to find accommodation close to your campus.

Werribee campus

This campus, where a number of Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Science activities are based, as well as the University Veterinary Hospital, is located in Werribee, on the outskirts of Melbourne, half an hour by car and just over an hour by public transport from our Parkville campus. It's about a 15 minute walk from Hoppers Crossing Train Station on the Werribee line, so is accessible from much of Melbourne.

On-campus accommodation

Kendall Hall provides self-catered accommodation for 76 residents in single rooms with shared facilities.

Creswick campus

This campus, part of the School of Ecosystem and Forest Sciences, is located 20km north of Ballarat and is 1.5 hours by car, or 2.5 hours by public transport, from our Parkville campus. It's about a 10 minute walk from Creswick train station, and accessible by both bus and train from Ballarat (up to 45 minutes, including the 10 minute walk).

On-campus accommodation

Creswick campus offers self-catered accommodation in three buildings - A.V. Galbraith Hall, Semmens House, and The Lodge.

Other options for studying at the Creswick campus include the private rental market, the Housing Online Noticeboard, and possibly homestays.

The city of Ballarat is about 20 mins away by car (half an hour by public transport), and may be worth considering commuting from.

Shepparton campus

Part of the Melbourne Medical School, the Shepparton campus is home to the Shepparton Rural Clinical School. It's located in Shepparton, about 3.5 hours north of our Parkville campus by public transport (a combination of buses and trains), or just over 2 hours by car.

On-campus accommodation

The Rural Health campus provides subsidised, fully furnished, self-catering student accommodation on site at the Clinical School, in a series of units at Graham St and Kilpatrick Avenue.

Dookie campus

The Dookie campus is part of the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences. It's a working farm located half an hour outside Shepparton, about a 2.5 hour drive from our Parkville campus. It isn't accessible by public transport.

Students studying here typically live on campus.

On-campus accommodation

A variety of accommodation options are available on campus, at varying price points, and with both self-catered and catered options. Facilities also include a swimming pool, gymnasium, and various sporting facilities.

Other options

The Dookie campus is only accessible by car, and major towns or cities (Shepparton, Benalla, Violet Town) are a 20-30 minute drive away. If you do want to look at off-campus accommodation, you can consider the private rental market or the Housing Online Noticeboard.
