Most recently Provost of St John’s College (University of Queensland), Dr Allan brings to the position extensive experience in supporting students’ academic and personal development in residential university environments. Previous roles include serving as Deputy Dean for the Residential College and, prior to that, as a Lecturer in English Literature for the Pathways School, for Trinity College (University of Melbourne). Dr Allan maintains an active research career as an authority on Shakespeare and a committee member of the Australia and New Zealand Shakespeare Association and has also served on the board of the Faculty of Arts (University of Melbourne) 2016–2020.
