Scholarship Selection Process

Applications for these scholarships are made directly to LPDP. Explore the schedule and selection stages and the obligations, prohibitions, and sanctions in the official LPDP website: https://lpdp.kemenkeu.go.id/

If you want to apply for LPDP before getting an offer from The University of Melbourne, complete the LPDP application, including a scholastic test, and once a scholarship has been secured, apply for your desired course at The University of Melbourne. You can then attach your LPDP Guarantee Letter to your application to request a fee waiver from us.

If you have already secured an Offer Letter (LoA) from The University of Melbourne, you can skip the scholastic test component of the LPDP selection process. Apply to LPDP, upload your Offer Letter (LoA) from The University of Melbourne and receive your LPDP scholarship and Guarantee Letter.

The University has implemented systems to process LPDP applications in a timely manner. Help us provide you with an outcome as soon as possible.

Round 1 Registration announcements are made around mid to late June, and Mid Year intakes commence in late July. Therefore it is not recommended due to visa processing times, course capacity limitations, and the time required to arrange relocation to Australia.

The Faculty of Arts aims to provide outcomes to all timely LPDP applicants before LPDP registration closes.

Deferring, or changing the intake on your offer (LoA) may be possible but cannot be guaranteed. This is subject to the discretion of the Faculty of Arts as limits to deferrals apply, and your new offer (LoA) may become Conditional in certain circumstances. For example, if your English Language test expires before the deferred intake, or if Selection Requirements increase for the deferred intake.

If you do not secure LPDP funding in Round 1 (June)

Mid Year intake offer (LoA) holders:
Request a deferral using the instructions in your offer (LoA). Deferral limits may apply, and you may be advised that you need to reapply if your offer is no longer eligible for deferral. If deferral is approved, a new offer letter (LoA) for the requested intake will be issued.

Start Year intake offer (LoA) holders: Request a Lapse Date Extension to use your current offer (LoA) to apply for LPDP Round 2 registration. This will not change the intake that you are applying for, only the date by which you will need to respond to the offer. A new offer letter (LoA) with revised offer lapse date will be issued.

If you do not secure LPDP funding in Round 2 (November)

Mid Year intake offer (LoA) holders:
Request a Lapse Date Extension to use your current offer (LoA) to apply for LPDP Round 1 registration. This will not change the intake that you are applying for, only the date by which you will need to respond to the offer. A new offer letter (LoA) with revised offer lapse date will be issued.
