Highlights of your learning experience
Expert educators
You'll learn from a team of dedicated specialist Aboriginal Health educators and academic staff. They
will guide you through your studies, offering insights and feedback in real-time sessions where you can connect with them and your peers.
Flexible and engaging learning
In your first year, you’ll engage in a compulsory one-week on-campus teaching intensive at our Shepparton Campus for each subject. This experience provides a strong foundation and a chance to connect face-to-face. After this, weekly tutorials will be delivered by your academic staff, and you'll have the flexibility to participate either online or in person.
To undertake the course you will need to have have appropriate access to, and relationships within, an Aboriginal community or organisation to conduct a community-based project in the first year.
This project is developed in close consultation with the community or organisation. A key focus is understanding the vital role of community engagement and participation, applying your project skills in rural settings, seeing positive outcomes and connection to that particular community. This hands-on experience will help you gain practical community development and project management skills.
In your second year, you'll have the opportunity to select from an approved list of electives from the Master of Public Health for your final two subjects, allowing you to tailor your learning to your specific interests.
