Course overview
Overview
Where sustainability and urban design collide.
Explore the ways in which vegetation, design and infrastructure can all work together to reshape urban spaces and contemporary cities for the better. The first course of its kind in Australia, the Graduate Certificate in Green Infrastructure combines planning, applied science and practical skills to examine green roofs, living walls, urban trees and water-sensitive design. Developed for working professionals and recent graduates, this course prepares you to create healthier, more liveable cities through real-world, problem-based learning, and demonstrates that more spaces can (and should!) go green.
Key features
- A new frontier in design. Explore the rapidly evolving field of green infrastructure through cross-disciplinary approaches to urban planning, sustainability and environmental management in city environments.
- Redesign cities from the inside out. Develop practical knowledge in green roofs and walls, urban trees, ecological restoration and sustainability-focused design all while you explore the ways in which vegetation improves liveability.
- Skills that go beyond the classroom. Through real-life, problem-based learning, case studies and hands-on activities, you’ll explore strategy, technical project management, stakeholder engagement, and how to facilitate community participation.
