Application process

  1. Submit your expression of interest by clicking on the ‘apply now’ button above.
  2. Provide the following supporting documents:
    • Written endorsement from principal research project supervisor or the relevant head(s) of department or equivalent, including verification of the applicant's progress or completion.
    If you have NOT completed the Professional Certificate in Indigenous Research, please provide the following additional supporting documents:
    • Evidence of a completed doctoral degree OR if you have submitted your thesis but not yet received a result, please provide a one-paragraph Statement of Support from your Supervisor indicating why they have nominated you or why they think you are a good candidate for the course.
    • A confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage (as costs are covered for students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, we are required to provide confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage for all students enrolled in the course).

  3. Complete the formal course application online

    Once we receive your Expression of Interest and supporting documents, we will notify you if your application was successful. You will be asked to complete a formal course application and enrol in the course via the University of Melbourne's central application system.
