Admission criteria

To be considered for entry into this course, you must:

  • Have completed a degree that qualifies applicants to practise as physiotherapists.

And

  • Have two years of documented relevant clinical experience.

And

  • Be registered to practise physiotherapy in Australia or acquire temporary registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

English language requirements

About selection

As part of your application, you must also:

  • Provide a folio of work demonstrating professional experience and skills relevant to the course

When assessing (and where relevant, ranking) applications, the Selection Committee will consider: 

  • Prior academic performance
  • Relevance of previous study
  • Assessment of folio
  • Relevant prior (research and/or professional) experience

The Selection Committee may seek further information to clarify any aspect of an application in accordance with the Selection and Admission Policy.

Meeting the minimum entry requirements for this course does not guarantee selection.

Additional information

  • To participate in face-to-face clinical placements, applicants must be registered to practice physiotherapy in Australia. If you are an international or otherwise non-registered applicant, you must acquire temporary registration for the purposes of postgraduate study through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). If you are unable to obtain AHPRA registration, you may be able to complete clinical observations online.
  • Applicants should normally have had a minimum of two years' clinical experience, with one of the two years preferably being in the area of course specialisation.

Advanced Standing

Prior studies may be credited towards your degree and potentially reduce the duration of your course. This is known as Advanced Standing (also known as credit or recognition of prior learning).

25 credit points of advanced standing may be granted on completion of the Professional Portfolio, which is a pre-admission requirement.
