Admission criteria

To be considered for entry into this course, you must have:

  • An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline AND
  • Appropriate prerequisite studies for your stream.

Appropriate disciplines depend on the stream you undertake. These include:

Biosciences: Biological Sciences (or equivalent).

Earth Sciences: Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, or Physics (or equivalents).

Mathematics and Statistics: Mathematics and Statistics (or equivalents).

Physics: Physics, Mathematical Physics, Chemical Physics (or equivalents).

Supervision requirements

If the stream you are applying for includes a mandatory research component, you will need to meet the following supervision requirements:

  • Biosciences: you must find a supervisor before applying
  • Earth science: you must find a supervisor before applying.

Please note That the Mathematics and Statistics stream and the Physics stream do not have a research component.
