The Bachelor of Oral Health equips you to transform lives through better oral care. You'll master examining, diagnosing and treating dental conditions with empathy and expertise. From interpreting radiographs to planning tailored preventative treatments, you'll gain specialised knowledge in orthodontics and working alongside other health professionals. Whether in private practice, hospitals or health services, you'll showcase compassion on the frontlines of oral health as an oral health therapist.
Career outcomes of the Bachelor of Oral Health
Graduates of the Bachelor of Oral Health can register to practise as an Oral Health Therapist. They are also considered qualified to practise as dental therapist and/or dental hygienist. The Bachelor of Oral Health has combined vocational outcomes in hygiene and therapy.
Hygiene: Dental hygienists provide dental care for all age groups. They examine and record the nature and severity of periodontal conditions, and clean, scale and root-plane teeth.
Therapy: Dental therapists provide dental care for children and adolescents. They examine oral and dental conditions, restore and conserve permanent and deciduous teeth, perform extractions of deciduous teeth, and remove calculus. Under recent changes dental therapists are also able to provide care to adults under certain circumstances.
As a graduate of the Bachelor of Oral Health, you will be qualified to pursue a range of rewarding careers, including:

Professional Recognition
The Bachelor of Oral Health is recognised in all Australian states and territories and in New Zealand and is accredited by the Australian Dental Council (ADC). Students will register as dental practitioners with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) upon graduation.
