Prior to starting the course, I was working on a rotational basis across a network of hospitals which included care on the oncology wards.

The course appealed to me as it allowed for structured learning through the lens of a range of cancer specialists, from pathologists to radiation oncologists. Additionally, the course is entirely flexible; I was able to complete the course whilst working on a full-time basis.

I found the overall course content in each module to be the most exciting part of the course. Every aspect of cancer such as cancer diagnosis and cancer therapeutics are available as modules for students to learn.

To gain the most out of my Masters journey, I needed to manage my time well and fully engage with the content on the learning platform.

My peers in the course were great sources of information and learning.

The course caters to a range of healthcare professionals working in cancer care which include nurses, physiotherapists, doctors, scientists, and pharmacists. This is reflective of a multi-disciplinary team care approach used in cancer care.

The biggest challenge of online learning is having the dedicated time after work as well as motivation to complete the module requirements. However, the return for your time and dedication will ensure your growth of knowledge in cancer care for our patients in need.

I have always worked to ensure I have a strong foundation of knowledge and skills as a pharmacist in cancer care. My future career goals are not only to continue growing my own clinical skills but to also contribute to cancer care education and potentially, further research in this specialty area.

The knowledge gained from the course and the presentation skills acquired will  mold me into a better pharmacist to the patients I meet and a supportive member of a healthcare team.

My advice to future students is to fully engage with the course tutors and content! The tutors had a wealth of knowledge and were very supportive of the students.
