About the program
The Melbourne Law Masters program offers masters degrees, graduate diplomas, specialist certificates and single subjects across 26 specialist legal areas with more than 180 subjects.

Flexible format
Subjects are delivered intensively over a five-day period. The programs flexible design also supports students who wish to move from a graduate diploma to a related masters degree.
Master of Laws (LLM)
The Master of Laws (LLM) and Graduate Diploma in Laws are available only for law graduates (LLB, JD or equivalent). Students can choose from subjects in the specialist legal areas.
Specialist legal areas
The Melbourne Law Masters program offers masters degrees, graduate diplomas, specialist certificates and single subjects across 26 specialist legal areas to deepen knowledge and understanding in a broad or specialised area of law.

Single Subject Study
The Melbourne Law Masters program offers an exciting range of subjects that can be undertaken without enrolling in a formal degree or diploma. Available to both law and non-law graduates, single subject enrolment is a great way to advance your professional knowledge in a specific area of law. Practising lawyers may also use these to contribute to their Continuing Professional Development points.
New subjects for 2026
The 2026 program features 19 new subjects, including Digital Human Rights, International Law and AI, Taxation for Sustainability and many more.
Overview subjects
The Melbourne Law Masters program offers a number of professional overview subjects that provide an introduction to key legal areas. These subjects are not available for academic credit in the Melbourne Law Masters program.
