Graduate Degree Package entry requirements

Discover the three teaching Graduate Degree Packages available that allow you to combine the Bachelor of Arts, Design or Science with the Master of Teaching in one of four specialisations. With one of these packages, you'll graduate with a higher qualification than a traditional double degree and gain a competitive edge in the workforce.

Domestic package options and entry requirements

Entry requirements:

  • ATAR: 95.00+
    • or Access Melbourne guarantee: 88.00*
    • or NZ NCEA (best 80 credits at Level 3): 93
    • or GCE A Levels:  AAA
    • or International Baccalaureate  (IB) diploma: 38
  • Teacher Capability Assessment Tool (TCAT) to be completed during Year 12 or during the undergraduate degree.
  • Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) VTAC code: 3800510351
  • International Fee Place (IFP) VTAC code: 3800510353

Progression to masters degree:

To advance to the Master of Teaching (Secondary), applicants must meet the requirements for two designated learning areas. In addition to fulfilling the conditions specific to each package, you must also satisfy the general domestic eligibility criteria.

Please be aware that Master of Teaching courses are not available for mid-year entry. If you complete the undergraduate component of your Graduate Degree Package in the middle of the year, you will need to wait until the start of the following year (Semester One) to begin the graduate component.

*Access Melbourne guarantee: Available to students who apply through and meet the requirements for one of these Access Melbourne circumstances:​
- You live and go to school in a regional or remote area​
- You reside in a low socioeconomic area according to government definition
- You're of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
- You have a disability or medical condition.
