Graduate Degree Package entry requirements

Discover the three teaching Graduate Degree Packages available that allow you to combine the Bachelor of Arts, Design or Science with the Master of Teaching in one of four courses. With one of these packages, you'll graduate with a higher qualification than a traditional double degree and gain a competitive edge in the workforce.

Package options and entry requirements for VTAC applicants

Check entry requirements for domestic, onshore international and New Zealand based applicants for undergraduate and graduate course packages.

Indicative entry requirements:

  • ATAR: 90.00
  • New Zealand NCEA NCEA (best 80 credits at Level 3): 87
  • GCE A Level: ABB
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma:  34

Guaranteed entry:

  • Access Melbourne ATAR*: 84.00

Initial Teacher Education Assessment (iTEA) to be complete during Year 12 or during the undergraduate degree.

In addition to each package's conditions, you must also satisfy the general domestic eligibility requirements.

Progression to masters degree:

To advance to the Master of Teaching (Secondary), or the Master of Teaching (Secondary Internship), applicants must meet the requirements for two designated learning areas. In addition to fulfilling the conditions specific to each package, you must also satisfy the general domestic eligibility criteria.

A Commonwealth Supported Place in one of the streams of the Master of Teaching is guaranteed following completion of the bachelor program.

Please be aware that Master of Teaching (Primary) and the Master of Teaching (Secondary Internship) is not available for mid-year entry. If you complete the undergraduate component of your Graduate Degree Package in the middle of the year, you will need to wait until the start of the following year (Semester One) to begin the graduate component for those courses.
