College life

Academic program

International House offers an extensive learning support program. You can take advantage of our purpose-built library, e-learning space and undergraduate tutorial program. Our academic enrichment program aims to accelerate your learning, help you adjust to university and provide support to help you excel.

Professional enrichment

Each semester, you can hear from industry, diplomatic and academic guests.

Make the most of the college network with our mentoring program. This program pairs undergraduate students with alumni and graduate residents to assist with relationship building and developing communication skills.

Academic seminars are also held approximately once per month. Members of the graduate student community have the opportunity to present on their area of study or research.

Meals and communal dining

Meals are served in the Dimmick Dining Hall and provide our residents with a diverse and balanced diet. Dining as a community is one of the best ways to meet people, catch up on news and stay in touch with other residents.

A range of activities

At International House there is so much to get involved in. The chances are you will find an outlet to pursue anything and everything you are interested in.

If you are studying music or are interested in music-making, our music tutor can help. Students can also demonstrate their talent at one of our many cultural and celebration events during the year.

Sport plays an important part of life at International House and you are encouraged to participate in the Intercollegiate Sporting Program or to join in as spectators.

International House has a team for AFL, athletics, badminton, basketball, cricket, football (soccer), hockey, netball, rowing, softball, swimming, squash, tennis and volleyball. The program is open to students of all ability levels.

Other opportunities include:

  • Cultural events
  • Wellbeing and health initiatives
