School outreach programs

We run and participate in workshops, competitions and outreach programs for secondary students in all year levels. Designed for engaging experiences to discover the exciting possibilities of knowledge across a range of disciplines.

Girl Power in Engineering and IT

Inspire your female students about the exciting possibilities of Engineering and IT through our 4 year Girl Power program, including a three-night camp at the University of Melbourne, work experience in Year 10 and mentoring opportunities in Year 11 and 12.

Hands on Engineering and IT

Introduce your Year 10 students to engineering and technology concepts and issues through our interactive workshops. Workshops are 12-14 April during the school holidays. Students will participate in a full free day of activities.

Girls' Programming Network

For those just getting started, or programmer pros, this free full-day programming workshop is run by girls for girls. These events are one Saturday per term with the first event on 25 March.

Amazing Spaghetti Machine Contest

A competition where teams of Year 10 students apply their knowledge and skills in maths, science, engineering, and project management to create a complex machine and achieve a simple task. Fun and prizes guaranteed!

Science Experience

A three-day summer program for Year 9-10 students to meet other students from around Victoria and work through a fun, interactive program of activities.

Residential Indigenous Science Experience

A week-long residential camp for Indigenous students in Year 9-10 to experience hands-on workshops and special presentations on chemistry, geology, genetics, physics and maths. Takes place 5-9 December 2022.

Girls in Science Forum

This event in November connects Year 9-12 girls with a passion for science and provides them with the opportunity to hear about the Australian and New Zealand L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Fellows scientific interests and the discoveries they have made, while also discussing the potential for future study or careers in science.

Year 10 work experience

STEM discipline workshops and activities including conducting experiments, attending seminars, collaborating with others on research projects and presenting their own findings. Participants discover what it's like to be a scientist, meet like-minded friends and scientific role models, and also get a taste of university life.

For high school students Year 9-12 who identify as women or non-binary and are passionate about leadership and pursuing a career where they can impact change. The program allows students to meet like-minded peers, current Bachelor of Commerce students, alumni and inspiring academics who are making a difference in industry and through their research. Multiple dates are available from Year 9 program commencement.
