As a doctoral candidate at the University of Melbourne, you will demonstrate academic leadership, increasing independence, creativity and innovation in your research work.
Your thesis makes a distinct contribution to knowledge. Its contribution to knowledge rests on originality of approach and/or interpretation of the findings and, in some cases, the discovery of new facts.
Intended learning outcomes
Upon completion of the Doctor of Education, you will be able to:
- demonstrate command of a substantial and complex body of knowledge at the forefront of an area of professional practice
- independently and systematically engage in critical reflection, synthesis and evaluation
- independently and systematically develop, adapt and implement research methodologies to extend and redefine existing professional practice
