Career outcomes of the Doctor of Physiotherapy graduates

As a DPT student, you’ll have many opportunities to explore clinical practice, research, and advocacy. Your learning will extend far beyond the classroom, preparing you for a wide range of rewarding career pathways.

Career opportunities include:

  • Private practice and sports facilities
  • Community health organisations
  • Major hospitals and specialist centres
  • Innovative teaching methods and an extensive clinical program designed to create work-ready and highly employable graduates

Thanks to our strong partnerships with leading institutions, including Melbourne Health, Austin Health, Western Health, St. Vincent’s, and the Royal Children’s Hospital, you’ll gain exclusive clinical experience in some of Australia’s top healthcare settings.

Throughout the program, you’ll see healthcare in action while working with diverse community groups. You will develop skills to analyse health challenges in their broader context and build practical, meaningful solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives.

Graduates of the program are eligible to register with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and work as physiotherapists in Australia and New Zealand. Many graduates have also pursued international practice in the UK, Canada, and the United States. (If you plan to work overseas, be sure to check the registration requirements of your local physiotherapy board.)
