What is the cut-off score?

Entry is highly competitive and both the total available places in our fourth year programs and the cut-off mark will vary each year depending on the availability of supervisors and resources in suitable project areas. Applicants will generally need an entry score over 80 (first class honours) or equivalent in order to be competitive for selection consideration.

If I repeat a subject I have previously failed, how will my entry score be calculated?

If a student fails a second year or third year subject(s) at the first attempt and then passes that subject(s) on a subsequent attempt, both fail and pass results will be included in the fourth year entry score. This is consistent with the UoM weighted average mark (WAM) convention.

Can I take extra subjects to increase my entry score?

Results obtained for subjects that have not been credited toward a completed award course (e.g. Community Access Program (CAP)) will normally not be considered.
